At Fanelli Dental, we continuously invest in the latest technology that modern dentistry offers. Our commitment to consistently delivering world-class dentistry in our Gladstone dental clinic stems from our passion for helping patients enjoy exceptional and comfortable care during their time with us.
Here are some of the ways that our modern dental surgery caters to the needs of our patients.
The noise and vibration associated with dental procedures have received a welcome upgrade with high-speed electric handpieces. In addition to being quieter, they improve precision and efficiency for every type of dental restoration such as crowns, fillings, bonding and onlays.
3-D Cone Beam Imaging
I-CAT 3-D cone beam imaging is an invaluable tool used in a wide variety of dental procedures. Because 3-D images provide the most accurate details of the teeth, bone and jaw, the use of cone beam technology gives patients better overall results.
- 3-D assessment of the head, neck and jaw
- Planning wisdom teeth extractions
- Addressing impacted teeth
- Orthodontic evaluation
- Precise dental implant surgery
- Airway assessment
- Accurate views of the tonsils, adenoids and sinuses
- Jaw joint function
At Fanelli Dental, we have a range of lasers for different applications, giving our patients the most modern and comfortable options available today.
Soft Tissue Laser Treatment
Soft tissue lasers shorten healing times and reduce discomfort so dramatically that anaesthetic is not always necessary. Precise gum and soft tissue surgical procedures result in the preservation of more healthy tissue for a conservative approach.
- Gum contouring
- Soft tissue surgery
- Tongue and lip-tie release
- Periodontal disease treatment and tissue regeneration
Low-Level Laser - MLS
Multiwave Locked System laser energy treats muscular issues including sore jaws, trigger points and helps with jaw release.
DIAGNOdent is a caries (decay) diagnostic tool that provides more information regarding the depth, shape and complexity of the cavity so that the appropriate restoration and planning is possible.
Digital Records and X-Rays
The digital age has given us a greater capacity to accurately monitor oral health over time and to keep private information private. Your dental health information is securely stored and available for our dentists to compare over time at the click of a button.
Digital Dental X-Rays
Patient safety is our top priority. Digital dental x-rays emit up to 80 per cent less radiation than traditional x-rays while producing the highest resolution images possible.
Diagnostic x-rays make it possible to detect and treat oral conditions in the early stages when they are less complex.
We hope that our friendly rapport with patients and our gentle treatment will put patients at ease while visiting Fanelli Dental, but we understand that some patients may need some assistance when trying to relax. We are here to help with the following options for a fear-free dental appointment.
Nitrous Oxide 'Happy Gas'
A mild form of sedation that enters and exits the body quickly, nitrous oxide is an odourless gas that we deliver through a small nose mask. We can adjust the level of sedation throughout your appointment and the effects will wear off within minutes after your procedure.
Prescription medication induces a relaxation state for a calm and comfortable dental visit. Because of the residual effects of sedation dentistry, you will need a family member or trusted friend to deliver you to the clinic and home afterwards. Patients report that lengthy procedures seemed to pass quickly and that they have little to no memory of their procedure.
NuCalm All Natural Relaxation
NuCalm introduces a non-medication based solution for dental anxiety and stress. Using a four-step process, which can be completed in just minutes, patients enjoy relaxation benefits without residual side effects, grogginess and the need for a ride to and from your appointment.
- Supplements to counteract adrenaline and to introduce calming amino acids
- Auditory stimulation to induce relaxation
- Comforting eye mask
NuCalm is an all natural sedation option. Patients report feeling relaxed and rested after their procedure.
CEREC Single-Day Crowns
Until the introduction of CEREC technology, dental crowns required at least two visits to the dental clinic – one to prepare the tooth and place a temporary crown and a second appointment to deliver and seat the final restoration.
Common issues, such as distorted impressions, would often arise and the final restoration would need to be reworked.
CEREC crowns require only a single appointment because it allows us to fabricate your final dental crown in our Gladstone dental practice. Dr Fanelli oversees the entire process, ensuring patients receive the most comfortable and aesthetic results. Rather than sticky impression paste, we digitally scan the tooth. Our software captures the precise size and shape of the crown needed, and it is created in our ceramic mill. The final restoration will have natural-looking shading to complement your smile.
Many patients would prefer to avoid root canal treatment if possible. At Fanelli Dental, we make the root canal process so simple, using precision rotary instruments, that it will feel similar to having a filling, and can be completed much faster than with manual endodontic files. Rotary instruments also reduce complications within the tooth and root, resulting in improved success rates and faster healing.
TENS Treatment for Jaw Pain
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) introduces electric pulses into muscle tissue to erase muscle memory, reduce inflammation and promote relaxation in tense muscles that can inhibit healthy jaw function.
Gentle electrical pulses, delivered over the course of about an hour, will allow Dr Remo Fanelli to then guide the jaw into its proper orthopaedic position to commence with treatment.
We provide patients with take-home sleep study equipment to monitor the quality and duration of sleep. At-home sleep studies can detect the number of waking incidents that occur during sleep and assist with identifying the presence of sleep apnoea.
Many patients prefer the convenience and comfort of completing sleep studies in their own beds rather than a sterile clinic environment separated from partner and pillow.
Once the device captures the necessary data, we will forward it to an accredited sleep specialist for analysis. If the presence of sleep apnoea is detected, we provide non-invasive oral appliance therapy to assist in opening the airway.
If you have ever tried to look at your own teeth, you know how awkward it can be. Our intraoral camera captures detailed photos of individual teeth, lesions and soft tissue conditions such as periodontal disease.
Our dentists can display these images on the treatment room monitor for patients to see exactly what the dentist sees. This valuable information helps patients make educated decisions about treatment. We save these images in your digital records to monitor changes in oral health.
